The bottom shelf contains boxes that smell like old paper, so you don't much bother with it. The second shelf is full of books; the third, a collection of framed photographs. There's a lumpy fabric pillow thing on top of the bookcase that smells very strongly of unfamiliar cat, even from a few feet away. You think it's the same cat you smelled on the clothes.
